Crafting Imperfect Perfection

The construction of this garden wall was prompted by the proximity to the museum, aiming to enhance comfort and privacy for the current residents. The detached studio villa was commissioned by the esteemed impressionist painter Hein Kever (1854-1922). To ensure the wall harmonizes perfectly with the home's distinctive character, hand-formed bricks were chosen. Crafted and authentically baked in a coal-fired ring oven, these bricks exhibit an irregular and diverse appearance, distinctly setting them apart from modern counterparts.
